Early Learning Practitioner

Salary Grade: £22,506-£24,510 pro rata -Scale 5 (spinal point dependent on experience)

Contract: Permanent, 52 weeks a year

Hours: 28 hours, some flexibility offered

Woodlands Park Nursery School and Children’s Centre is a very busy and exciting environment. The successful applicant will be responsible for: delivering groups to children (0-5yrs) and their parents and working alongside partners to provide high quality services to families in the local community. We are seeking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Early Learning Practitioner to join our team. We are looking for someone who is able to be: flexible, deliver high quality play/learning and is committed to improving outcomes for children and their families.

 We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds a level 3 qualification in Early Years/Child Care.
  • Is able to lead on the planning and delivery of groups with children 0 – 5 years and their families and has the ability to apply the EYFS to track children.
  • Is able to support the early identification of needs of children working closely with the Early Intervention Outreach Practitioners.
  • Ability to manage and develop a multi-purpose space in a very busy environment.
  • Will work within a multidisciplinary team and alongside partners to offer services to children and their families.
  • Will work with settings in the Private, Voluntary and Independent sector to maximise opportunities for children accessing the Free 2 year old entitlement (FF2s) and 3/4year child care offer.

We are seeking to appoint a Receptionist/Administrative Assistant to join our energetic, enthusiastic and committed team. Woodlands Park is an inclusive nursery school and children’s centre with a long tradition of integrated working. We were graded as Outstanding in our December 2017 Ofsted inspection. We serve a diverse community and have strong relationships with parents and community groups. We are warm and welcoming with an ethos of care, respect and support. Our year round provision caters for children from 1 to 4 years of age and also includes after school and holiday care provision for children aged 5 to7 years.

We wish to appoint someone who:

  • Has good communication skills, experience of administrative functions, excellent IT skills and has attention to detail.
  • Is sensitive to the needs of children and their families, enjoys working in a team and has the ability to be flexible in a busy environment.
