About the trainer

Sally is a co ordinator for the EEF funded Maximising the Impact of Teaching Assistants project. She also delivers the MITA school improvement course for school leaders and Maximising the Practice of TAs training for school staff, as well as being a Senior Teaching Fellow and delivering the NASENCo programme at UCL, Institute of Education.

Sally possesses an excellent understanding of the legitimate barriers to effective TA deployment and practice. As a class teacher, I have taught across all primary year groups and has worked with LAs to deliver SEN training and have advised on a number of SEN projects. I hold a Masters degree in Pedagogy: Professional Values and Practice, and have a Postgraduate Certificate in Advanced Dyslexia teaching.

  • Scaffolding as a framework for developing pupil independence
  • How to contribute to assessment for learning
