Event Details

EYFS newly qualified teachers are recommended to prioritise these sessions. We welcome any newly qualified Y1 teachers as this will help support continuity of learning and transition from Reception to Y1. During these 6 days participants will consider:

  • The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and the principles for early years education
  • The Early Years Foundation Stage Profile (EYFSP)
  • Children with special educational needs
  • Behaviour management
  • Parents as partners
  • Children with English as an additional language
  • Learning through play
  • How to create a stimulating learning environment
  • Learning through Outdoor play

Expected outcomes:

  • To understand the EYFS and the principles for early years education
  • To understand the EYFSP
  • To understand more fully how to work with children with SEN
  • To understand more fully how to work with children with EAL
  • To understand the importance of working with parents and some of the ways in which this can be achieved
  • To understand that play is a key way in which young children learn
  • To understand how to create a stimulating learning environment
  • To explore ways of supporting children’s learning outdoors
  • To have an opportunity to network with other NQT’s, to explore ideas, raise issues and ask questions
